Cookie Policy

Introduction

This policy has been written to enable you to make informed choices, based on clear and relevant information about the use of cookies by this website.

The policy uses the term ‘cookies’ to refer to cookies and similar technologies covered by law (such as Local Shared Objects – commonly referred to as ‘flash cookies’, web beacons or bugs, including clear gifs). The information collected relates to data that could make it possible to identify users/visitors through association and processing with data held by third parties (such as, for example, IP address numbers, domain names of computers used by persons accessing the website). This data is only used for statistical purposes.

This document is an integral and substantive part of the Privacy Policy and of the information contained therein, which has also been issued in accordance with Art. 13 of EU Regulation no. 2016/679 (GDPR). We therefore invite you to read this document, which can be accessed at the following link www.chimpex.it/privacy-policy/.

Applicable legislation

This matter is governed by European Directive 2002/58 /EC – subsequently amended by Directive 2009/136 /EC and implemented by the national legislations of the European Union Member States – which requires, under certain circumstances, consent to be obtained for the installation of cookies and similar technologies.

What is a cookie

A cookie is a small text file, usually made up of letters and numbers, that is downloaded to a device when the user accesses a website. Cookies are then sent back to the originating site on each subsequent visit. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device.
The use of cookies and similar technologies has long been commonplace as cookies are important in the provision of many online services. The use of these technologies is not, therefore, prohibited by law, but requires that the user be informed about cookies and be given the opportunity to accept or reject them.

Types of cookies

Cookies can expire at the end of a browser session (i.e. from when a user opens the browser window until they exit the browser), or they can be stored for longer.

Session cookies – these allow websites to link a user’s actions during a browser session. They can be used for a variety of purposes, such as storing what a user has put in their shopping cart while browsing the site. They could also be used for security, when a user logs in to an internet banking service, or to facilitate the use of webmail. These session cookies expire after one browser session.
The use of so-called session cookies (which, in any case, are not stored persistently on the user’s device and are deleted automatically as soon as the browser is closed) is strictly limited to the transmission of data (consisting of random numbers generated by the server) that identify the specific session and are necessary to enable safe and efficient exploration. The so-called session cookies used on this site avoid the use of other IT techniques that could potentially prejudice the confidentiality of users’ web surfing.

Persistent cookies – are stored on the user’s device between distinct browser sessions and allow the user’s actions on a site to be recorded. Persistent cookies can be used for a variety of purposes, such as recording users’ preferences and choices when using a site (or, in some cases, across different websites).

‘First’ and ‘third party’ cookies – Whether a cookie is a ‘first’ or ‘third party’ cookie is closely related to the website or domain that uses that particular cookie. ‘First party’ cookies are essentially cookies set by the same website visited by the user – i.e. the website displayed in the URL window: in our case, cookies set by www.chimpex.it

‘Third-party’ cookies, on the other hand, are cookies that are set by a domain other than the one visited by the user who manages them entirely. Consequently, this site has no control over these cookies, and has no access to the information collected by them. Information on the use of said cookies and their purposes, as well as on how to disable them, is provided directly by the third parties.

Data controller

Chimpex Industriale S.p.A., as identified in the Privacy policy, is the sole data controller of – and therefore only liable for – its own cookies, i.e. ‘first party’ cookies, whereas ‘third party’ cookies fall under the ownership of the respective companies, identified according to the table contained in this document.
You can contact the Data Controller at the following e-mail address: privacy@chimpex.it

Consent for cookies

Some cookies are strictly necessary for the proper functioning of the site (so-called technical cookies) and do not require the user’s consent, such as those designed to ensure that the content of a page loads quickly and efficiently, the distribution of the workload between different computers, or those designed to guarantee security.
Other cookies are still fairly necessary or important, but are not strictly indispensable and therefore require the user’s consent.
This site implements several techniques for collecting the user’s consent: one way is to select the cookies to which the user wishes to give consent by ticking the boxes on the cookie banner on the site’s access page, which indicates the use of cookies.
Browser settings are another means of granting consent or, conversely, rejecting cookies; the user can set the browser to warn him/her of the presence of cookies, allowing him/her to decide whether to accept cookies or not. It is also possible to reject all cookies automatically by activating the appropriate option in the browser.
Each browser highlights the relevant instructions for this purpose.
